Notre Âme comme un Oiseau 3  (Our Soul Like a Bird · No. 3)

Black velvet cutwork against open-weave tarlatan cotton — interrupted by fragments of genuine 24-karat gold and silver leaf, each placed by hand. The surface shifts with the light, catching and releasing, never quite the same from one moment to the next.

Schwarz works at the intersection of the meditative and the forceful — the breath-held patience of gilding set against the swift, physical mark. Her epigraph, borrowed from poet François Cheng, anchors the work: "One must hear the unsaid and discern what is not shown."

Framed by the same Parisian artisan atelier responsible for works at the Louvre, with museum-grade anti-reflective glass.
