THE ARTIST
-
In her works, Anna Hanna Schwarz delves into a striking contrast between the delicate and meticulous movement of applying gold leaf and the sudden impact of an axe on wood or the sometimes swift application of color with a roller. These diametrically opposed gestures converge in a subtle balance. The influence of Cézanne is palpable; Anna Hanna Schwarz grew up in Aix-en-Provence in the family home, precisely where he painted his Sainte-Victoires. This connection with the master is evident in her works, especially in pieces like "Bois de Chêne," "Élusives Sainte-Victoire," and "Sainte-Victoire au-dessus de Dubidet." Her numerous travels to different cities in Morocco have undoubtedly influenced the artist in her use of color, harmonizing with the technique of the floating leaf, which can be seen in her series "Mosaïques de printemps" and "Variations."
"I invite the viewer on a visual, emotional, and poetic exploration, transcending the boundaries of the tangible to touch the very essence of things."
